Jillian Rose ’04 — Patient advocate
In this episode, we talk with Jillian Rose ’04, who graduated from PC with degrees in social work and health policy & management. Rose, the director of community engagement, diversity, and research at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, received the Distinguished Educator Award from the Association of Rheumatology Health Professionals for her work training health professionals to improve care and to change outcomes for patients of color. Rose, who will receive her doctorate in health education from Columbia University in the spring, talked about the challenges patients face and how she found her calling while studying at PC.
