Thoughts on teaching:
My teaching philosophy is based in an inclusive, learner-centered approach that incorporates critical and experiential learning. As an instructor, I seek to foster environments that support active student involvement to critically engage with material and enhance meaningful and relevant learning for all students. I want students to leave my courses better equipped to approach the world, and the people they encounter, from different perspectives regardless of their field or discipline.
Field(s) of expertise/interest:
My research focuses on individual, organizational, and systemic change to promote social justice and equity, particularly regarding the social determinants of health and mental health.
Hobbies/interests:
I spend a lot of time with my family. I love being outdoors walking, running, hiking, biking, swimming, spending time at the beach, and just breathing. I also enjoy reading, traveling, and good food.
