What are your thoughts on teaching?
My approach to teaching is motivated by four core principles: 1) create diverse and accessible opportunities for learning, 2) teach students to think like scientists, 3) create a welcoming and inclusive environment, and 4) inspire students to set ambitious goals and support their progress.

Tell us about your field of expertise.
My research is interdisciplinary, involving cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, and quantitative microscopy. My central question is: How do cells stay the right size? In other words, how do cells couple cell growth and division? This question has important links to the generation of cancer since uncontrolled cell growth and abnormal cell size are characteristic of cancer cells.

What hobbies/interests do you enjoy outside of academia?
Hiking, baking, listening to audiobooks/podcasts, and chasing around my toddler
