Assistant Professor, Theology

Ph.D., University of Notre Dame

What are your thoughts on teaching?
As a theologian, I have an affection for the notion of several Church Fathers that Christ is our interior teacher. I strive, therefore, to inculcate and to celebrate the various ways my students and I are together being drawn into an encounter with this one teacher of us all in and through our common pursuit of the truth that sets us free.

Tell us about your field of expertise
My research interests are in the field of historical theology, with a focus on the patristic and medieval periods of Christianity. I am particularly interested in the thought of Augustine of Hippo, especially his theology of resurrection.

What hobbies/interests do you enjoy outside of academia?
I have a penchant for outdoor adventures and for various athletic activities, whether as a participant or as a spectator. I also find enjoyment in accompanying others and being accompanied by others along the paths of this life.
